European Business Institute of Luxembourg: Education Without Borders

An international education can open doors. But those doors aren’t always equally easy to reach.

The European Business Institute of Luxembourg (EBU) was created around a different idea: that quality higher education and professional training should be accessible, equitable and affordable, regardless of where a student comes from.

Based in Luxembourg, EBU is a non-profit higher education and professional training institution with an increasingly global reach.

From business fundamentals to emerging technologies

Its academic offer covers a broad mix of business and technology.

Students can pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), MSc in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence or Diploma in Business Management.

There is also a wide range of professional certificates, covering areas from finance and compliance to cybersecurity, blockchain, sustainability, emerging technologies and leadership.

Among them is a particular focus on Women & Leadership, reflecting EBU’s broader interest in widening access to opportunities that have traditionally been less evenly distributed.

Access is part of the model

For EBU, accessibility isn’t just about putting courses online.

The institution combines digital education and scholarships to reach students and communities that remain underrepresented in higher education.

This is particularly visible in Africa, where EBU has developed a strong presence, especially in Kenya, through partnerships with governmental, diplomatic, educational and civil-society organisations.

It also has a specific focus on getting more women into STEM. Through Women in Tech Kenya and Robotics for Rookies, a programme designed for Kenyan girls, EBU supports access to technology and robotics education from an early stage.

Making inclusion practical

The same approach extends to people with disabilities.

Through its partnership with the Crystal Asige Foundation, EBU has enabled hundreds of people with disabilities to access education.

Its scholarship programmes also extend beyond Africa, reaching students across Asia and Latin America.

A different kind of international network

EBU’s international footprint now includes 340+ partners and a presence across 175+ countries.

That gives the institution a distinctive position: a Luxembourg-based education provider operating at the intersection of European education, technology and talent development in emerging markets.

Rather than focusing only on where education is delivered, EBU is concerned with who gets access to it, and how that access can translate into opportunities across borders.
