I arrived on a rainy Tuesday with two suitcases, a bike lock and absolutely no idea how Danish supermarkets worked. The first week looked nothing like the study-abroad montage in my head.

Then the small things started to click: the same faces in class, cheap communal dinners and the courage to ask one person if they wanted coffee. Copenhagen stopped feeling like a postcard and started feeling like a place I could live.

The panic is a phase. The city is not.

My honest advice is to give the awkward phase time. Join one activity, say yes to the invitations that scare you a little, and keep enough money aside for the things nobody puts in the budget spreadsheet.
